Software Engineer - Healthcare Claims Solutions
Position Description
Responsible for design, development, unit testing, and technical documentation of software applications. Responsible for providing assistance to QA specialists on system integration and testing. Provide customer support in troubleshooting production issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Development in the full lifecycle of software development methodology using Linux, MS Windows XP/2003 platforms; C#, Java, TCL, SQL languages and Relational Databases (Oracle)
Provide customer support in trouble shooting customer issues.
Work closely with offshore development teams.
Work with a team of business experts on the functional requirements and specifications.
Translation of business logic from business specifications to the technical design and programming language.
Provide assistance and consultations to QA specialists on system integration and testing.
Provide assistance with software installation.
Communicate technical specifications and system documentation.

Requirements |
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in design, development and maintenance of software applications. Detailed knowledge of the software engineering process, problem solving and decision-making ability.
Strong experience in designing the architecture for software systems.
Experience in healthcare, particularly claims processing and/or contracting is a plus.
Strong communication skills with a good understanding of layout and structure of company data stores.
Experience with offshore vendors is a plus.
Must also be reliable and devoted to completing assigned projects on schedule, with minimal supervision. Must be highly motivated, innovative, and a great team player.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Strong object oriented development skills and experience in the full life cycle of software development methodology.
Experience working on Linux and MS Windows XP/2003 platforms.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with one or more of the following programming languages: C#, Java, SQL.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with relational databases (Oracle preferable)
Knowledge or exposure to the following technologies preferable: JBoss, Hibernate, Spring, ActiveMQ/JMS, .Net WinForms, C++, Logical/Physical Data Modeling, TCL (Tool Command language), Ant, StarTeam/VSS.
Education
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
